Introduction
High purity metal chromium refers to the principal component of chromium more than 99.95%, low impurity content, especially oxygen, carbon, nitrogen, sulfur content is very low. Among them, oxygen is less than 0.01%, carbon is less than 0.008%, nitrogen is less than 0.005%, and S is less than 0.002%. High purity metal chromium is mainly used as superalloy additives to produce aircraft turbine blades, electrical contacts, semiconductors, chip sputtering targets and other fields.
At present, the oxygen content of the two main chromium raw materials is very high: the oxygen content of chromium reduced by thermite is about 1000 ppm (0.1%); the oxygen content of chromium produced by electrolysis is higher, reaching 5000 ppm (0.5%) and can not be directly applied to the additives of aeroengine. Only through carbon reduction and deoxidation of chromium reduced by aluminotherm, carbon reduction or hydrogen reduction and deoxidation of electrolytic chromium sheet, the oxygen content can be reduced below 400 ppm (0.04%) to be used as an additive for Aeroengine blades. The limit of reduction of oxygen content is 300 ppm for metal chromium blocks and electrolytic chromium sheets by carbon reduction aluminium thermal method, and 30 ppm for chromium sheets by hydrogen reduction, which is one order of magnitude higher than that by carbon reduction method. Therefore, it is very suitable for the main components of aero engine turbine blades.
